one time at band camp...

Unread postby nick 2 » Fri Jan 07, 2005 12:47 pm

Guys,

X hollaring about me paying half of Band Camp for oldest. We are about to go toe-to-toe over the house (auction). I did a quick look at my financials and a generous look at hers. After my CS, she actually makes more money than I do. We recently had hearing where I was asking for more time with kids and 50/50 split. She denied both. We finally split the possessions and she thought it would be funny to disable some of my stuff (digi cam, no cable hookups, software, memory stick). Now she's asking for money for band camp. I'd like to tell her to stick a flute up her <edited for content>. It won't be due till April, so I have a little time. Is this not actually part of the CS money? Thanks for answers in advance.

Unless your decree specifically states that you are to pay half of this, it should come out of the CS.

And if she destroyed any of your possessions, find a way to document it so that you don't have it counted as an "asset" you received and to make her look bad.

Counted as an asset? I don't understand what that means.

ASSETS - cash, property and investments along with anything else that may be of value to a individual or business.

Generally, when you parcel out the contents of the home, you are dividing assets. You agreed to allow her to keep certain items in exchange for other items, that were in working order. Alternatively you can sell everything and split the cash. But if she provided items to you that she destroyed, you have a window of time to come back and ask for MORE household items, in light of the fact that the items you received originally were not as valuable as you believed at the time of the agreement. Your attorney may be able to help you with this. I was advised that if a mistake was made (I miscalculated the value of an item) I was SOL, but if she deliberately committed fraud (like destroying the interior of our home and withholding the keys until after the divorce), I could go back and ask the the distribution of assets be revisited. In some states this HAS to be done before the divorce is final, other states allow you to modify the separation of assets at any time (good ole GA).

You can also call and talk to the camp director and ,if you are having to pay, make a payment plan for it.What a lot of parents don't know is that many camps will haggle and take some money off when the parent is having money issues, etc. This summer, the summer camp took off 400.00 just for me asking and are letting me pay it off at a rate I can afford. Hey, all they can say is no (and they usually won't) Good luck!

Band camp is in your child support. Your payment represents all you owe toward the raising of the child and that includes unnecessary items to life and health such as band camp. Do not get dragged into the extracurricular monies trap. Stick to paying only what you are court ordered to pay. Nothing more. Over time, if your child support becomes tolerable, you'll find you are able to do more for your children directly and less through handing the money to her to do. Let your children learn to come to you. What you don't want established is the idea that she can force you to do these extracurricular things. It's a bad lesson for the children to learn.

And honestly the kids should not know about who pays this and who pays that at all.JMHO.

Need suggestions

I have the ex from hell to beat all exs. The children are now adults and I have no relationship with them, thanks to their mother. I will tell you that I never missed a child support payment, kept up all required insurance, including life coverage on me, for as long as I was required. We have been divorced for 20 years and she's still hounding me. It's like she can't let go. I'd like to pay her back. She's gotten my mail, listed phones in my name to get my calls, hired private detectives to tail me, photograph my house and wife and car. I'd like suggestions for what I could do to make her miserable, cause her disruption, aggravate her, annoy her, whatever, that won't get me tossed in jail or sued again.

Fed Up/Zip has been on this site for 1.5 years under multiple names and giving the false impression that they are two different people. I recognized this within 2 weeks of reading this site. I was amazed that no one else could see it. You would constantly switch names and give the other "person" approval with a pat on the back such as:

here -
http://www.dadsdivorce.com/phorum/read. ... eply_69490

or here -
http://www.dadsdivorce.com/phorum/read. ... eply_69483

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Then I did some digging and came up with this:

Fed up:

zip:

Interesting that they are different enough to fool the casual observer, but close enough to warrant a positive identity when viewed under close detail.

Both "posters" here had two boys, moved across the country/3000 miles, and had been divorced for 20 years...etc etc.

I also speculated that at least 1 of your son's is a poster here as well. ;-)

Might as well mention the fact that both "posters" say their ex's was stalking them, or the fact that both posters appeared here about the same time, or the fact that both posters vehemently attacked me from the beginning when I only "insinuated" that I knew they were indeed the same person. I would have never exposed him if he had not attacked me.
Throughout my history here I only expose those which become problems, and maintain silence on those that do not become problems.
