I'm fully aware of how that works and in no way regret that decision but appreciate the lesson. That's the past and here for advice on current future handlings through others experiences.

Rest assured Bro, there will be a "settlement." But unless you crawl out of your comfort zone come up with a well-orchestrated game plan, any settlement will be on her terms.

BTW - >90% of cases are settled out of court.

The plural of anecdote is not data.

It is really important, for your future handling, to understand the reasonable person who will be making the decision. When it comes to trash-talking the mother in Court, you should really sit that one out.

I'm still stuck on the spousal support for an 8 month marriage. Even if it was 18 months.. she'd only get 9 months of spousal support...

You better nail that down to $Zero or 4 months -- then done (non-modifiable).

Support your child/son.. not your ex-wife.
