You have to pay the amount of the order until you get the order changed. You can rail about the unfairness of it all, but you are going to pay the current amount (and the arrears) one way or the other until the order is changed.

If you don't like the child support amount, you are supposed to challenge it. You can't just pay what you or your lawyer think is fair.

If your lawyer actually said, "hey, just pay what seems fair to you," that guy is a < lunkhead > and you need to talk to another lawyer.
If you can't be a good example, you'll just have to serve as a horrible warning.

Dude, you can't just unilaterally pay what you prefer to pay. It's a court order, not a court suggestion. And you actually have a lawyer right now? You may need to rethink that choice.

He said he sent her the letter and she called him. He offered to file it with my state's court if she signed off on in but she refused. I paid the new amount for months and then she decided it wasn't enough anymore and went to court herself.

All she uses child support for is her vacations anyways. Her husband is rich.

None of that matters. You are ordered to pay what the court indicated on your court orders. You may not pay anything less under the pain of penalty. Your lawyer is a fecking moron.

I have a feeling his lawyer didn't tell him to stop paying the court ordered amount.

The lawyer isn't the only one who is a fecking moron.

If its court ordered you don't have a choice.

Hell I overpaid my ex $1100 a month for 15 months. I didn't have a choice, it was court ordered CS.
