Typically one person gets Monday/Tuesday, the other gets Wed/Thurs (same every week) and then you rotate Fri/Sat/Sun overnights every other week.

As far as when it starts and what times to exchange, that's up to you and ex to figure out unless it's spelled out in the decree.

Example schedule...

Monday at 9am to Wednesday at 9am - Parent One (2)
Wednesday at 9am to Friday at 9am - Parent Two (2)
Friday at 9am to Wednesday at 9am - Parent One (5)
Wednesday at 9am to Monday at 9am -Parent Two (5)

Choose a consistent exchange time that works for both parents. During the school year it can be at the start of the school day, or at school dismissal. During the summer it can be in the morning or at 5pm, 6pm, 7pm or whatever else works.

Typically this is used for younger children up to about the early teenage years. Then Most people will use the 7/7.

How old are your kids?

Monkey,

So, say summer starts 6/2 (last day of school) and it is her weekend, how would we do it?

I like the EoD exchange..
Thanks,

Phoenix,
Thanks for the link, the visual calendar is missing the 2/2/5/5

The age of the children? old enough to do 7/7
This is a NJ request that I was pressured into accepting, it is NOT the entire summer only a few weeks.

Due the way the schedule goes you'd need to be the wed/thur parent in order to have the weekend after Mom's. So Mom gets Fri Sat Sun Mon and Tues and you get Wed Thur Fri Sat Sun.
