What does 'NJ' stand for?

I have seen it used several times. For instance, in this context:

It wasn't until she ran into Mr Wonderful at her HS reunion last summer that she really went full blown NJ. Hell, Mr Wonderful isnt even down with her plan, he is more of some NJ ideal that doesn't exist.

OP most I think on the forum here don't use or like the NJ term which refers to nut job.

It is degrading of your children's mother and the woman you chose to marry or have intercourse with.

I have been guilty of using it when I first came here and then tempered it to more of (When she is acting like a NJ), (Part time NJ part time reasonable).

You will get some more in depth explanations if you standby; I just wanted to get you a quick response.

It also is used for New Jersey as well.

It was a term used to stop worse terms from being used.

It stands for NutJob. Just remember that your children are half their mother and a rational person would see this as a slur of their own children - the use of NJ is aging off the forum, just as the former frequent reference to “The List”, with the membership changing and adapting to the current state of divorce.

A lot of progress in the last decade - you will see it as you read through older posts.

How are you doing today? Still lost that leg?

Like many of the senior members I'm not a fan of the term.

But....some dudes really do have NJ's for ex's and are justified in using the term. Better than the alternative.
the funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it

STBX, X, the kids' mom, work just fine, for examples.

It's a term to call spade a spade. When you are dealing with a nutty woman on a daily basis, it clears off saying so once in a while. Do not use it outside of the forum tho!

Agreed with all above posts. I use stbx, ex, and "the mom". With my close friends and trusted circle I sometimes use a lot worse when I vent.

Hmmm.... I'm actually from NJ.

But, I can see the humor in the usage. There are plenty of NJs from NJ.
