A number of factors came together to put comrade Trump in power. They all should be investigated. And not by the criminal stooge he put in place as his AG.

They should be held to the same standards they held their predecessors to, at the minimum, since they held themselves out to be the better choice.

Crock of < bovine scat >, mock. The stink from russian influence in the election is a minor aroma compared to the very likely corruption roiling around the new administration, related to Putin and not.

Spicer is such a bonehead. But the journalists failed to ask one obvious question.

Spicer said that trump's budget call for tons of cuts because he couldn't look in the eyes of a "single mother of two" or a steelworker or coal miner and ask them for money for Sesame Street and Meals on Wheels programs when they were having a hard time themselves.

Yet no one picked up the obvious point that our Prevaricator in Chief is asking those same hardworking people, who voted for him on this point, to pay for a wall that he promised another country would be financing.

Maybe we should start a new thread about the new administration. I just wanted to share an observation about the 2016 Presidential Campaign that seemed novel to me.

I failed to mention the obvious, that it escapes no rational liberal or left-leaning person that the Democratic candidate was so weak so as to be unable to defeat a feckwhistle like trump. I said a similar thing about John Kerry and Al Gore. But it must be said that while there are credulous people on both sides of the aisle, trumpkins have amplified credulity to embarrassing levels. And the little puppet spicer looks more and more stupid as the paint encroaches up his socks in the tiny little corner into which he's painted himself.

There is no shame in this administration.

Especially when there are hearings beginning for a Supreme Court nominee who was nominated by a president who is under investigation for collusion with a foreign government (Benedict Donald). Has the cancer metastasized? Hope we find out soon enough.

Your keen observations of the Trump presidency would profit enormously from a new thread dedicated to the service of that topic.

And my creative writing skills could benefit from an eighth grade education.

Perhaps the new thread should start with tomorrow's House vote on the AHCA (aka Trumpcare/Ryancare/Don'tcare).

This is the first major legislative test of the Trump Presidency. There are anywhere from 21 to 29 "Nay" votes on the GOP side - and it takes 23 of them to kill the bill (was 22, until a Dem rep had a death in the family and left DC). If this doesn't pass in reconciliation, tax reform under reconciliation will also be DOA for 2017.

Does anyone on this board (don't care who you voted for) support this bill as currently written?

(Side Note: One provision which may receive broad bipartisan support, allowing insurers to offer insurance across state lines, is not - and cannot be for procedural reasons - in the bill. This is a single issue that I'm pretty sure would pass tomorrow if it were a stand-alone revision to the ACA - hell, when both Rand Paul and Robert Reich agree on something, it has to be a win-win - but will not see the light of day while the push for the AHCA is on.)
