Staying at ex's place w/kids (while she's at work)

Unread postby Me_and_my_boys » Tue Jan 30, 2018 3:23 pm

Hi All,

In order to make it easier for the kids to attend an after school event without needless travelling, the ex has offered for us all to stay in her apartment for a few hours while she's at work. She's extended the offer before and I declined because I feel it's too personal. (I have kept our post-divorce relationship strictly business.) However, this would make things easier on the kids on this particular day.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

I'd do it, but wouldn't so much as pee there. Bring snacks or dinner yourself, an activity to do maybe (board game?), and hang with the kids, never leaving the living room. See how it goes, once. Then make a decision on how you'll handle future situations.

What if your STBX was on fire
"No." is a complete sentence.
Do not move out of your house.
What are you grateful for?

He doesn't have one of those.

Sound advice. Homework at the dining room table and then we're out. Thanks!

Attempt at humor with a misquote.

If I were inside my ex's house on a regular and frequent basis, I'd have my digital recorder up and running.

Given my ex's propensity for lying and causing trouble, no way I would ever step foot into her place. I would take the kids to McDonalds or a local bakery for a snack, then to the local library to do homework. Even in a small town there is plenty to do like shooting baskets at the school gym, visiting the local animal shelter and playing with the dogs/cats.

I'd have no problem with it

But I had a sane ex who once she was divorced from me, didn't hate me.
