I'm not sure what a Consent Decree is.

This situation was in lieu of of Temp Orders hearing. We haven't even done our mandatory mediation yet. So, I guess these would be considered Temporary Orders.

I did talk to my attorney yesterday. He's contacting her attorney to tell him I was never in the loop on any of this. Or, whatever they tell each other. My guy is very good about not running up the tab. So, I'm not sure what to make of all this. He came highly recommended by another attorney in town.

Well he's certainly not good at following your directions.

You are seriously considering keeping him on? Would you recommend him to your best friend? If not, why are you keeping him? Sounds like you are trying to rationalize keeping him on board? I wouldn't risk him making another mistake but that's me.

Lawyers in my state are allowed to do this also. It doesn't happen often but it does happen.
the funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it

One of the biggest mistakes people make in divorce (other than the list that is provided in another section of this board) is staying with the same attorney despite the red flags.

I used 3 different attorneys during my divorce, because each and everyone screwed up in a big way. Even the last guy wasn't great. He got it done but if it had taken any longer I would have moved on to number 4.

Just not seeing any good reason to throw good money after bad, there's a lot at stake here.

Thanks for all of the input.

I'm supposed to hear back from him today. I'll make a decision after I hear back from him.

OP - this is what we mean by managing your attorney.

Yes, order court transcripts, file motion saying they made a clerical error, watch both attorney's dance if they refuse to settle this before with a stipulation.

While driving to Navarre, FL to a my favorite tackle shop - Half Hitch, I was listening to a radio ad by Morgan/Morgan - it sounded like an episode of "Better Call Saul", I nearly pee'd in my depends, they were seeking clients to sue other attorney's for sub par representation.

hint hint...

My first and only attorney ran up my divorce bill to over $9k within the first 9 months of my divorce.

(though I don't recommend this, as it's not for everyone), I fired him and completed both my divorce and QDRO pro-se, and subsequent RFOs over the last 7 years.

Knowing what I know now, you need to manage your attorney to keep cost down, and to get exactly what YOU want.
