Alternatives are good but Amazon prime isn't free.

I've had it a few years now. It's like Netflix and Spotify combined, plus free shipping. And now picture storage.

You can edit the post to say free with prime membership if you prefer.

I did not know this. I like Amazon. I get my movies and music for free, but I would definitely be an Amazon subscriber.

Google Drive offers 15GB of free storage. Additionally, if you select to backup photos to less than full size (which will be less that 2048x2048, which is freaking plenty) then it doesn't count against your storage limit at all - essentially making for unlimited storage of photos.

Plus you can share with more than 5 people.

I was about to say the same thing, outis. The unlimited photo storage is free with the free google account and my phone automatically backs up my photos and videos whenever my phone is charging and on wifi.

I use google's cell service Project Fi, which offers unlimited calls and texts for $20/mo and then $10/mo for every gig of cellular data. They use all of the cell carriers so I get service everywhere anyone else does, never throttled.

I still use my 1T for photo storage. I also use One drive, Google Drive and that other one I can't think of right now.

Question:
Is anyone afraid of getting their cloud Storage hacked? I know my 1T could go down, but I think I'm more afraid of having my cloud storage hacked.

Am I afraid? No. The assumption is that it will eventually. The best way to mitigate the attack is to not upload that which I want to stay hidden.
One thing of note, regarding uploading to companies that have free storage or lots of storage...
Try and stay with companies that are going to be around for the long term, such as Google or Amazon. Those are companies that have very little chance of being swallowed up and parted off by another company.
Dont let your precious memories end up in a graveyard of a dead company never to be retrieved.
Do multiple backups. Both locally and cloud based. And back up often. In fact, go run a backup right now since you're thinking of it.
