Pulling in article data from links

Can someone break that here? Very very very annoying to have a whole page of text appear in the middle or at the end of a post.

Posters would need to check the box 'Do not automatically parse URLs' when posting.

Or perhaps that setting can be made a forum-wide default.

I tried that yesterday with a link, it still popped the whole page in. I removed the URL code to not spam a whole Webpage.

It would be nice if default was to not bring that crap over.

The owner of the intellectual property rights (usually a newspaper or magazine or blog) should be able to control how the link functions. Even if we don't like it.

jumble, try deleting the "www." from the url, including in embedded links.
